Trail Mix

The author in 2018, finally back on a horse.

1 box store bought granola

1/4 box of Cheerios

1  bag of M&Ms (plain or peanut, or better yet–both)

Dried fruit (pineapple, apricot, banana chips, apples)

Mini marshmallows

Raisins (chocolate covered ones are best)

Flaked coconut

1 handful of peanuts

1 handful of walnuts

Three small bags of Gummy Bears (the original kind, not the cheap ones)

Put all that stuff in a couple zip-lock baggies so you can share it with your friends, and give it a good shake. 

 Good sprinkled on ice cream or cereal, even better in yogurt!

Author Note: I now make granola from scratch and it is one of Alex’s favorite treats. I still still sometimes make my own “trail mix” but mostly it is just cheerios, nuts, raisins. It is a perfect snack when I am traveling and worried that I might starve to death between convenience store or airport stops.
